Charlie Prell

Farmer and Wind Activist New South Wales

The Prell family has been farming for more than a century. It’s a lifestyle and tradition Charlie is passionate about, but concerns about the ongoing viability of farming led him to become a leading advocate for the adoption of renewable energy projects on farming land as a second, reliable income.

Charlie’s farm ‘Gundowringa’ is a 2000 hectare sheep and cattle grazing property in Crookwell, NSW.

Charlie is a former president of the Australian Corriedale Association and former Director and Chairman of the Goulburn Rural Lands Protection Board. In 2008, he was elected a Councillor on the Upper Lachlan Shire Council. Today, in addition to his farming work, Charlie is also the NSW Regional Organiser for the Australian Wind Alliance
