Nicky is a Founding Director of the Community Power Agency, a Strategist at Climate Action Network Australia, and a Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) at the University of Technology, Sydney.
She is an expert in the transition to clean energy, specialising in energy policy, innovative business models, and community energy and has worked with and visited over 60 community energy groups in Australia, Europe and the US. Nicky’s work particularly focuses on issues of energy justice, fairness, access to clean energy and putting people at the heart of the transition to clean energy.
Nicky has a detailed understanding of the working of Australia’s energy system. She is lead author of the Repower Australia Plan, the Repower South Australia report, the National Electricity Market Report Card, the National Community Energy Strategy and co-author of the Homegrown Power Plan.
In 2014, Nicky was recognised on the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence List.
