Australians on the front line of climate change available to respond to Chief Scientist
| Media Alert – Tuesday 15th March 2016: Australians feeling the impacts of record-breaking heat are available to respond to the warning issued by Australia’s Chief Scientist, who has said the planet is ‘losing the battle against climate change’. Dr Alan Finkel’s statement was made in response to new data released by NASA, showing that February 2016 was the hottest month since global records began.
Health experts, farmers, firefighters and renewable energy advocates are calling for urgent action to reduce energy emissions as low rainfall, unseasonably longer heatwaves, bushfires and devastating drought continue to take their toll on people around the country.
