Sheila Nguyen
Executive Director, Sports Environment Alliance Victoria
Dr Sheila Nguyen is the executive director of the Sports Environment Alliance (SEA), and was recognised by the Australian Financial Review in its 2019 Top 100 Women of Influence.
Dr Nguyen has been pivotal in re-orienting and educating the Australian sport industry to act with greater consideration toward the natural environment.
In her role at SEA, Dr Nguyen campaigns for greater management of water efficiency and waste management for sporting facilities and engages stakeholders for greater environmental awareness, education and policy making. She is passionate about addressing the growing concern of climate change by inspiring sport community members to minimise their environmental impact.
Dr Nguyen holds a PhD in Sport Management from Florida State University (USA), and regularly chairs discussions on sports and sustainability at United Nations meetings.
